(Greendale, Ind.) – Greendale Police are reminding area anglers to obtain a fishing license before casting in public bodies of water.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources will be enforcing required IDNR Fishing Licenses at Schnebelt Pont, the pond at Valley Woods and other public bodies of water.

Failure to have a fishing license could result in a fine.

To obtain a fishing license, visit IndianaOutdoor.IN.gov. Cost is $23 for annual fishing and senior fish for life. Single-day licenses cost $10.

To avoid a possible fine, please carry & present a valid Indiana fishing license upon request from a DNR Conservation Officer or authorized law enforcement officer.

This weekend, June 1st and 2nd, is Free Fishing Weekend in Indiana. This means Indiana residents do not need a fishing license or a trout/ salmon stamp to fish on the state’s public waters.
