(Columbus, Oh.) – Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has issued a statewide mask mandate.

Beginning Thursday at 6:00 p.m., citizens in all Ohio counties will be under a mandatory mask order while out in public.

DeWine says masks must be worn at all times when at an indoor location that is not a residence, outdoors when unable to keep social distance from those not in your household, and when waiting for, riding, driving operating public transportation, car service or private rideshare.

Everyone 10 years of age and older are required to wear a mask.

“Wearing masks will make a difference,” said DeWine. “It will determine what our fall looks like. We want kids to go back to school, we want to see sports – to do that it’s very important that all Ohioans wear a mask.”

DeWine also announced a travel advisory on Wednesday. Any individuals that come into Ohio from states reporting positive testing rates of 15 percent or higher for COVID-19 will be recommended to self-quarantine for 14 days.
