Girl, 7, Drowns In Hebron Pool

(Hebron, Ky.) - Boone County police are investigating the drowning of a young girl.

The drowning happened Monday afternoon at about 5:00 at the community pool at Country Place Apartments on Country Court Place in Hebron.

Police say bystanders pulled seven-year-old Luisana Cruz from the swimming pool at the complex and performed CPR until rescue crews with the Hebron Fire Department arrived.

Cruz was rushed to Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Florence where she died.

Police say the community pool had a sign stating that no lifeguard was on duty. The drowning remains under investigation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
