Gallatin Co. Deputy Arrested on Sexual Abuse Charges

(Boone County, Ky.)  - The Boone County Sheriff's Office has announced the arrest of a Gallatin County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Walker. 

Walker is charged with three (3) counts of Sexual Abuse 1st Degree (Class D Felony), and one count of each Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), Stalking 1st Degree (Class D Felony), Tampering with Physical Evidence (Class D Felony), and Official Misconduct 1st Degree (Class A Misdemeanor).

The charges stem from a complaint from a female that said Walker contacted her under the guise of following up on a domestic violence case he assisted with. Walker allegedly continued contacting the female, transitioning the conversation to more personal, and ultimately, romantic topics. When the female asked Walker to cease contact with her, investigators say he persisted and was found to be following her and watching her at various locations around Gallatin County. 

Walker is also accused of utilizing a law enforcement database to find additional personal identifying information about the female and let her know he had those, and other capabilities. 

On one occasion, the female agreed to meet Walker at a local gas station where he allegedly reached inside her vehicle and touched her in a sexual nature despite her attempting to move away from him. On another occasion, Walker responded to the female’s home in an official capacity, where he allegedly touched her in a sexual nature while she attempted to stop him and walk away from him. During both instances, Walker was on duty and in full uniform.

Investigators say Walker attempted to hide his communications and interactions with the female by consistently deleting her from SnapChat and deleting her number from his call log. He also disabled his department issued vehicle’s GPS system to hide when he was stalking or otherwise meeting the female.

He is lodged at the Boone County Detention Center where he on $100,000 Bond.
