(Wilmington, Oh.) – Expected chilly overnight lows have prompted a Frost Advisory and Freeze Watch to be issued for the tri-state area.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a Frost Advisory will run from at 2:00 AM to 9 AM Thursday.
A Freeze Warning will go into effect on Friday from 1:00 AM until 9:00 AM.
Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage outdoor plumbing.
Homeowners are encouraged to take steps to protect tender plants from the cold and consider draining in ground sprinkler systems and covering above ground pipes.
Temperatures as low as 35 will result in frost formation, mainly in low lying and valley locations. For the Freeze Watch, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 31 is possible.
