(Friendship, Ind.) - Friendship Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched for an ice rescue on Tuesday afternoon.

A dog wondered out onto an icy pond and had fallen into the water and could not pull itself out.

The firemen donned ice suits, inflated an RDC and performed a quick rescue. The dog was returned to solid ground with no apparent injuries.

"As we go through this thawing, please be diligent with your pets, children and yourself. This turned out to be a happy ending, they all aren’t. Be safe out there," reads a statement from Friendship Volunteer Fire Department.
