The program is designed to give students more than just a day away from school
(Brookville, Ind.) - Franklin County Community School Corporation is partnering with Stayin' Alive and Franklin County Court Services for a new Out-of-School Suspension Program
Students referred to the program will report to Franklin County Court Services, where they will have a structured environment to complete their schoolwork while also participating in educational programming focused on prevention, decision-making, accountability, and making healthier choices.
The goal is to reduce recidivism.
Pheobe Kroen has been selected to serve as the new Out-of-School Suspension Program Manager. She will coordinate the day-to-day program, work closely with students, families, school staff, and Court Services, and help connect students with additional resources and support when needed.
"Our goal is simple: when a student makes a mistake, we want to use that opportunity to educate, intervene, and help them make a different choice moving forward," reads a statement from Stayin' Alive.
