If you receive such a notice, please disregard.

(Franklin County, Ind.) - The Franklin County Sheriff's Department says citizens around the county have been receiving notices to pay fines through a QR code.
The notice, which is labeled from the State of Indiana in the Marion County Superior Court Traffic Division, alerts residents of "an outstanding traffic violation involving your registered vehicle within the State of Indiana" and asks that immediate action be taken.
"Beware, this is a scam. No law enforcement agency, or court, will ask for fines to be paid through a QR code. If you ever receive a notice such as this, and you have questions, look up the number to that agency/court from means other than what appears on the notice, and call that agency/court directly. Please help with family and loved ones of all ages to ensure they do not fall victim to these scams," reads a statement from the Franklin County Sheriff's Department.
