Franklin Co. Election Division Announces Important Dates, Info Regarding Primary Election

(Franklin County, Ind.) - The Franklin County Election Division is sharing some important information regarding the 2026 Primary Election.

The last day to register to vote or to transfer your registration is Monday, April 6 by 4:00 p.m. in the Franklin County Clerk’s Office. You may also register to vote, check registration status, check polling locations and request an absentee ballot online at Indianavoters.in.gov 

Tuesday, April 7 is the first day that a voter may cast their ballot before the early voter board in the Franklin County Courthouse, 459 Main Street, Brookville, Indiana. Those hours are:

  • April 7-10: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • April 13-17: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.                                      
  • April 20-24: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.                                    
  • April 27-May 1: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.                                       

Voting hours will be extended to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23 and Thursday, April 30.

Saturday hours and locations are as follows: 

  • April 25: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • May 2: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 
  • Clerk’s Office 459 Main Street
  • Ignite (Church on Fire) 1170 State Road 229, Batesville

Monday, May 4 at noon is the last day to vote an early ballot before the early voter board in the Clerk’s Office.

Those voters who wish to vote by mail or have the traveling board come to their house to vote, may contact the Clerk’s office for an Absentee Ballot Application. Call the Clerk’s office at 765-647-5111 ext. 3 for an application or if you have any questions. Thursday, April 23 is the LAST DAY for the Clerk’s Office to receive an application to vote by mail.
