(Versailles, Ind.) - The Southeastern Career Center will have a new director when students return to classes in August. On Monday, the Southeastern Career Center Board of Directors approved the hiring of Derek Marshall to lead the vocational education center in Versailles. Longtime Southeastern Career Center director Brad Street announced his retirement earlier this year. He was honored by the SECC Board of Directors on Monday. Marshall comes to the career center by way of Attica Community Schools, where he was superintendent. He previously worked as a principal at Scottsburg High School and Switzerland County High School. “He and his family look forward to returning to Southeastern Indiana and promoting the many advantages available to students through career and tech education,” said South Ripley Community Schools Superintendent Rob Moorhead, a member of the board. The Southeastern Career Center was founded in 1966 and currently provides career and technical education for high school students from 12 southeastern Indiana school districts.
