Food, Music, Softball At Sunman Firemen's Festival Friday, Saturday

(Sunman, Ind.) - It’s the biggest party of the year in Sunman! The Sunman Firemen’s Festival gets started Friday, June 8 and continues into Saturday, June 9.

The festival is the biggest fundraiser each year for the Sunman Rural Fire Department.

Head to the Sunman Community Park for the opening night activities. The scheduled includes a smoked pork chop dinner from 4:30 until 8:00. Live music will be performed by Dan Gutapfel and Inner Soul.

Saturday’s festivities start with the big Sunman Firemen’s Festival parade down Meridian Street at 2:00 p.m. The line forms at Sunman Elementary School. Call Lucas Garvey at (812) 212-5807 for information.

The parade will be followed by a chicken dinner from 4:00 until 8:00, a wood bat softball tournament, and musical performances from D.J. Adkins and Take a Chance.

Visitors can also enjoy the beer garden (21+), kids amusements, games, a lunch stand, and much more.
