Florence Police Rescue One from Freezing Lake

The individual fell through the ice and into a lake at a condo complex on Sunday.

(Florence, Ky.) – A woman and her dogs are safe after being rescued from a lake.

Florence Police were dispatched to a lake on Rio Grande Circle on Sunday at 6:39 p.m. in reference to a lady who fell through the ice and into the lake.

Upon arrival, officers located the woman in the freezing water approximately 100 feet from shore.

The initial investigation shows that she was trying to get her dogs off the ice when she fell through.

The officers on scene were able to crawl out on the frozen lake and pull her out of the water and get her to medical personnel. The dogs were also rescued from the lake and have made a full recovery.

The name of the person involved was not released.
