(Brookville, Ind.) – A Flood Advisory has been issued for the Whitewater River at Brookville.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, the advisory is in effect through late Friday evening.
As of Thursday morning, the stage was 6.3 feet.
The Whitewater River is expected to crest at 17.4 feet by Friday morning, falling above action stage (14 feet) and just below flood stage (20 feet).
At 16 feet, lowland flooding can be expected near Cedar Grove and New Trenton with lowland flooding also occurring in West Harrison, Indiana and Harrison, Ohio.
Motorists are reminded to never drive across flooded roads.
