(Elrod, Ind.) – Firefighters were called to a barn fire on Tuesday that spread to 12 different exposures.
The Friendship Volunteer Fire Department responded to the blaze in the area of 9300 South 450 East around 5:35 p.m.
Upon arriving at the scene, a large timber barn was found fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to a nearby residential structure.
However, the fire spread to 12 exposures, including three vehicles and three additional structures, while also creating a brush fire about a half-mile downwind.
All units cleared the scene by 9:33 p.m.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Milan Volunteer Fire Department, Versailles Fire Rescue, and Ripley County EMS assisted at the scene.
