Fire Truck Pull Raises Over $25K for Local Special Olympic Athletes

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The 2026 Fire Truck Pull to support Special Olympics Indiana - Ripley Ohio Dearborn Counties is in the books. 

Eleven teams took the challenge, raising $25,685 to help provide year-round sports training, competitions, health and leadership opportunities, and so much more for over 250 Special Olympics athletes in Ripley, Ohio and Dearborn counties.

Borderline Bar and Grill took home the first-place trophy for the fastest pull with a time of 12.39 seconds. The Fight Heavy Weights placed second (12.6 seconds), while Milan High School took third (12.81 seconds). 

The Fight's Lil' Fellas completed won the Lightweight Competition, which challenges teams to pull the 50,000-pound fire truck the full 50 feet within five minutes using the lowest combined team body weight. They did so with just 721 pounds. 

South Ripley High School was once again the top fundraising team ($4,342). Milan High School received honorable mention, raising $3,885.

The top individual fundraiser was Logan Mitchell, of Milan High School, raising $2,460. Abby Arney, of South Ripley, was second, raising $2,026. Benji Hyatt raised $240, earning the top fundraising Special Olympics athlete honor.
