(Franklin County, Ind.) - A $2 million bridge rehabilitation project will close Fairfield Causeway Road over Brookville Lake in Franklin County on or after Thursday, May 2, weather permitting. The contract was awarded to Dave O'Mara of North Vernon and includes waterline maintenance, roadway resurfacing and bridge painting.
In addition to the road closure, waterway traffic restrictions will be in effect for this project. Watercraft will be limited to crossing under the bridge through a marked, 70-foot channel. This area is a no-wake zone per the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
The official state detour for the closure is S.R. 1 and S.R. 101. The project is expected to be completed by late October.
