EC's McCool Named To IBCA Supreme 15 All-State Team

By Travis Thayer (Undated) - Several local girls basketball players have earned All-State honors for their phenomenal play during the 2015-2016 season. The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association announced their senior and underclassmen All-State selections Thursday. Southeastern Indiana is well represented. Fifteen seniors and 15 underclassmen have earned IBCA/Subway “Supreme 15” All-State honors. The IBCA also named 30 large school and 30 small school players as All-State selections. East Central, Jac-Cen-Del, and Rising Sun all had at least one player receive All-State honors. East Central’s Allie McCool was selected to the Senior Supreme 15 team. McCool, a George Mason University commit, will compete in a Top-60 workout on March 13 to potentially be named to the Indiana Senior All-Star team. If selected, she would be the first boy or girl from East Central to be named an Indiana Senior All-Star. Rising Sun’s Tiffany Vinup and Jac-Cen-Del’s Jordan Day earned senior honorable mention honors. JCD’s Lilly Simon was named to the Small School Underclassmen All-State team, while her teammate Rosie Newhart and Rising Sun’s Lucy Carrigan earned underclassmen honorable mention.
