EC vs. L'burg, Harrison vs. Taylor Part Of Reds Futures High School Baseball Showcase

By Mike Perleberg (Cincinnati, Oh.) – Five local teams are among those who will play in games part of the 6th Annual Skyline Chili Cincinnati Reds Futures High School Showcase presented by Cincinnati Children’s Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics. The showcase game scheduled was announced at Redsfest in Cincinnati on Saturday, December 3. The event will feature 82 baseball and softball teams playing in 42 games across Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky between April 1 and 22, 2017. East Central and Lawrenceburg’s baseball teams will meet in a showcase game on Monday, April 17 at Lawrenceburg High School. The first pitch will be at 5:00 p.m. The game will be Lawrenceburg’s second consecutive appearance in the showcase.

— Reds HS Showcase (@redshsshowcase) December 3, 2016 Ryle High School will meet Highlands in a baseball game on Thursday, April 13 at 4:00 p.m. at Meinken All-Star Field in Covington. In the final showcase contest, rivals Harrison and Taylor will play in a 6:00 p.m. game on Saturday, April 22 at the P&G Cincinnati MLB Youth Academy. Both teams appeared in separate games in the 2016 showcase last April. An MVP from each of the 42 games will be recognized on the field at the Cincinnati Reds home game on Sunday, April 23 against the Chicago Cubs. All players and coaches from the participating teams are invited to walk around the field in a “March at the Majors” before that game, too.
