Elementary, middle and high schools from across the country competed.

(St. Leon, Ind.) – East Central Middle School has been recognized as one of the top performing schools in a wide-ranging academic competition.
The bi-annual Vocabulary Bowl is open to accredited public and private K-12 schools, teachers at accredited public and private schools, and learners.
Eligible learners go online to Vocabulary.com during the contest period to master as many words as they can through the activities on the website. The goal is to be the school with the most mastered words.
East Central Middle School placed first in the state of Indiana with 16,075 mastered words. The next best was Manchester Junior Senior High School with 11,875.
East Central Middle School also ranked 51st overall, 21st among Division II schools, and 19th among all middle and elementary schools.
The competition ran from October 1 to November 30.
