East Central HS Musicians Qualify for State Competition

One student set a school record.

(St. Leon, Ind.) –  East Central High School musicians participated in an Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) event at Columbus East High School over the weekend.

Eleven solos, and one ensemble punched their ticket to the state competition, including Ayden Ketchem, who set a school record for sending six solos to the state event.  

Solos

Alex Harnist – Flute
Layla Ullrich – Clarinet
Jacob Doll – Trombone
Andrew Stangl – Euphonium
Jacob Eppinghoff – Marimba
Ayden Ketchem – Bassoon, Alto, Saxophone, Bari Saxophone, Flute, Soprano Saxophone, and Clarinet (school record six solos)
 

Ensemble

Ava Murphy – Trumpet
Konnor Eckstein – Trumpet
Ayden Ketchem – French Horn
Jacob Doll – Trombone
Andrew Stangl – Tuba

The ISSMA Winds State Event takes place on February 24 at North Central High School.
