East Central FFA Landscape Team Places 4th at Career Development Event

(St. Leon, Ind.) - Five East Central FFA members competed in the Indiana FFA Nursery/Landscape Career Development Event on Saturday, April 26 at Indian Creek High School in Trafalgar, Indiana.

The team of Adam Pflum, Cherokee Powell, Troy Randolph and Tyler Stenger placed 4th, while Jacob Boehringer competed individually. Tyler Stenger was the top individual for the team, placing 3rd overall out of 37 competitors.

All FFA members that competed at the event are Landscape and Turf Management students at ECHS and the content for the competition was taught throughout the year in the course.

Members participated in a number of events consisting of; general knowledge exam, identification of ornamental plants, pests, diseases, and disorders, plant potting/propagation practicum, landscape estimating practicum, verbal customer assistance and a team activity which involved laying out a paver patio and placing landscape plants according to a design.
