The District 12 FFA Welding Career Development Event was held Saturday in Madison.

(St. Leon, Ind.) - Five East Central FFA members competed in the District 12 FFA Welding Career Development Event on Saturday.
The event was held at Ivy Tech Community College Madison Campus.
Contestants completed a general knowledge exam and several welds using the Shielded Metal and Gas Metal Arc Welding processes.
In the beginner category consisting of freshman and sophomore competitors the team of Bruce Metzler and Hunter Scholle placed 2nd. Sophomore Gus Loschiavo also competed in the beginner division. Bruce Metzler placed 2nd overall in this division.
In the advanced category consisting of juniors and seniors, the team of Troy Randolph and Noah Long placed 2nd.
Both beginner and advanced teams qualified for the state contest to be held Saturday January 17 at the J. Everett Light Career Center in Indianapolis.
