(St. Leon, Ind.) – It was ribbons all around for members of the East Central FFA Chapter at a recent event in Versailles.
Fifteen members from the EC FFA Chapter competed at the Area 1 Forestry Career Development Event at South Ripley High School on November 29.
The team of Madison Shumate, Amelia Hartman, Alex Dudley and Heath Doll placed fourth overall in the senior competition, earning a spot at the state contest on December 8.
East Central’s junior team of Lydia Kidd, Bradley Kolb and Evan Kuhn earned a third-place finish.
Contestants had to use their skills in forestry to complete an exam and identify different species of trees by their leaves, seeds, and wood samples.
