The state's jobless rate increased in September.

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana’s unemployment rate increased in September.
According to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, the state’s jobless rate rose to 4.3 percent last month, up from 4.2 percent in August.
By comparison, the national unemployment rate reported for September was 4.1 percent.
In addition, Indiana’s labor force participation rate is 63 percent compared to the national rate of 62.7 percent.
As of September 16, 2024, there were 89,103 open job postings throughout the state.
