(Switzerland County, Ind.) - It’s time for some spring cleaning in Switzerland County.
The county and the Town of Vevay are holding their annual Countywide Cleanup this weekend.
Vevay town residents will be permitted to place unwanted items in a dumpster at the 7-Up building across from the cemetery. The unwanted items will be accepted in Vevay on Friday, April 20 from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, April 21 from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., and Sunday, April 22 from noon until 6:00 p.m.
County residents should take their items to the Switzerland County Highway Department garage on McCreary’s Ridge Road in East Enterprise from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. each of the three days.
You’ll have to show proof of residency to use the dumpsters. Items that will not be accepted at the dumpsters include tires, liquids, computers, televisions, hazardous materials, or items containing freon, paint, or paint cans.
Household hazardous wastes, such as paints, pesticides, oil, and other chemicals will be accepted on Saturday from 8:00 until 10:00 a.m. at the Switzerland County Recycling Center on McCreary’s Ridge Road.
