Duke Energy apologizes for the inconvenience.

Southeastern Indiana REMC is the electric provider for Hidden Valley. Below is an announcement from the cooperative:

This public service message is from Southeastern Indiana REMC, in association with Hoosier Energy and Duke Energy, regarding a 12-hour planned outage effecting all REMC members in the Hidden Valley Lake and surrounding areas from Salt Fork Road east to the Ohio border and Georgetown Road south to US 50.

After a short service interruption which occurred on Wednesday, June 19th, Duke Energy isolated a section of faulty transmission line (which carries 161,000 volts)  requiring immediate attention to ensure service reliability moving forward.

The planned outage to repair the transmission line will occur on Sunday evening, June 23rd at 6 p.m. and last approximately 12 hours to Monday morning, June 24th at 6 a.m.

All REMC members in the Hidden Valley Lake and surrounding areas are encouraged to take precautionary measures with regards to medical issues, security and internet issues, sump pumps, emergency lighting, etc.  Dearborn County EMS and the HVL POA is working closely with REMC to monitor this planned outage.

REMC members who have access to Smarthub can log into their Smarthub account and view progress reports and maps of the affected area throughout the 12- hour period.  REMC members can also view progress reports and maps through social media and the REMC website.

Southeastern Indiana REMC, Hoosier Energy, and Duke Energy appreciates and thanks you for your patience and understanding.
