(Harrison, Oh.) - Following several weeks of preliminary and off-roadway work, contractors for the Dry Fork Road widening and bridge expansion project over Interstate 74 are moving into the next phase of construction, and crews will close Dry Fork Road early next week.
Beginning Monday, July 6, Dry Fork Road will be closed between the interchange ramps at I-74 East and West, and the closure will be in effect through early December. While Dry Fork Road is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of West Road and Harrison Avenue.
The interchange ramps will also be subject to closure at various times while Dry Fork Road is closed, and currently, it is anticipated that the westbound I-74 exit and entrance ramps will be closed beginning August 1, for up to 45 days.
Once work on the westbound ramps has been completed, crews will move to eastbound I-74 eastbound, closing the on and off ramps for 45 days.
The Eagle Bridge Company was awarded a contract in the amount of $8.25 million to complete the project, and although the project will be substantially complete by the end of this year, all work is scheduled to be completed in late spring of 2027.
