Driver Rear-Ends Horse Buggy

The horse was okay, but the driver of the automobile was sent to the hospital.

(Switzerland County, Ind.)  - A driver was hospitalized after crashing into the rear of a horse-drawn buggy in Switzerland County Tuesday morning.

The driver of an automobile told deputies he was traveling on State Road 129 just south of Aaron Road at around 10:00 a.m. when he did not see the horse and buggy. The automobile then struck the rear of the buggy.

The driver of the vehicle was hospitalized with a minor injury, deputies said.

The lone occupant of the buggy refused treatment at the scene. Deputies said the horse was not injured.

Switzerland County Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by Moorefield Fire Department, Jeff-Craig Fire Department, and Switzerland County Emergency Response.
