Deputies Say Alcohol, Speed Contributed To Motorcycle Crash

A biker wrecked just feet away from the Bright Firehouse early Saturday morning.

(Bright, Ind.) - Dearborn County Sheriff's deputies say alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in a motorcycle crash which sent a woman to the hospital Saturday, September 21.

The wreck was reported at around 12:25 a.m. on Salt Fork Road at Brightwood Drive in Bright. Deputies say Stephanie R. Sparto and Mark A. Sparto were traveling together on separate motorcycles when Stephanie was going too fast to operate through the curve. Her motorcycle left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Sparto was unconscious at the scene. She was flown to an area hospital by medical helicopter.

The sheriff’s office indicated that charges could be filed depending on results of a toxicology report.
