(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) and SRI, Inc. have named a local fourth grader as the National County Government Week essay contest winner for the AIC’s Southeast District.
Emma Tully’s essay was chosen over entries from other fourth graders across the district. Tully, a student at Bright Elementary School, received $100 for winning the contest. One winner was chosen in each of the AIC’s six districts.
This year’s theme was “Celebrating Indiana Health Departments.” Essays were judged on how well students expressed their knowledge about Indiana Health Departments.
Tully was awarded the prize on May 13th during the AIC Southeast District Meeting in Jefferson County. The meeting also included a synopsis of the 2025 Indiana Legislative Session by AIC legislative staff.
