The agency also addressed concerns with the alert system not activating
(Dearborn County, Ind.) - According to Dearborn County EMA, it is possible that a tornado touched down in northern Dearborn County on Saturday evening.
The agency is seeking damage reports in the area of Trackville Road between Interstate 74 and the Dearborn/Franklin County line.
Anyone experiencing damage to structures should message Dearborn County EMA on Facebook or contact dispatch at 812-537-3431.
Dearborn County EMA also addressed concerns regarding the county not issuing any alerts for the possible tornado. That includes phones and the outdoor warning system not activating.
"These systems activate automatically for Dearborn County when a tornado warning is issued by The National Weather Service. This system can also be manually activated if a trained first responder sees a tornado. Neither of these conditions were met last night. This is the graphic (above) showing the warning polygon issued by The National Weather Service. As you can see Dearborn County was not included the polygon,' reads a statement from Dearborn County EMA.
