Dearborn Co. Recorder's Office Not Sending Deed Offers In The Mail

Some county residents have received offers in the mail for a copy of their deed for up to $89.00.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – The Dearborn County Recorder’s Office is alerting county residents that they can secure a copy of their deed for a $1 per page.

According to County Recorder Joyce Oles, some citizens have been receiving offers in the mail to be provided with a copy of their deed for a "service fee" of up to $89.00.

One of the mailings that has been provided to the Recorder's Office states that it comes from the "Local Records Office". Oles says the mailings may look official, but they are not being sent from the Dearborn County Recorder’s Office.

Dearborn County citizens are advised that they can secure a copy of their deed from the Recorder’s Office for the cost of $1 per page.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, any citizen wanting to obtain a copy of their deed should make an appointment by calling 812-537-8837.
