Photo provided.(Washington, D.C.) - Kevin Lynch, Dearborn County Commissioner and President of the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments, visited Washington D.C. for a National Conference of Regions to meet with area Congressmen and Senators to discuss regional transportation issues, like the Brent Spence Bridge, the Bright Connector, Clean Water Issues and to propose future legislation.
Lynch stated that he was "Proud to be in Washington DC this week with members of OKI, attending the National Conference of Regions and visiting our representatives on the Hill."
Over three days, meetings were held with Kentucky Congressman Tom Massie, Indiana Congressman Luke Messer and Todd Young, Ohio Congressman Brad Wenstrup and Congressman Steve Chabot. The group also met with Indiana Senators Joe Donnelly and Dan Coats, Ohio Senators Sherrod Brown, Rob Portman and Kentucky Senators Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul.
After a long day of meetings, Congressman Luke Messer was very gracious in inviting our group along with House Republicans (Congressmen Chabot, Wenstrup, Massie and Young) to relax with him at the exclusive Capital Hill Club for dinner. Lynch stated.
Other Board members from OKI in attendance included TC Rogers, Commissioner, Butler County, Ohio, Gary Moore, Past President, National Association of Regional Councils, Judge/Executive, Boone County, Kentucky, Todd Portune, Commissioner, Hamilton County, Ohio, Lorrie Platte, OKI Legislative Affairs Director, Ken Reed, OKI Treasurer and Mark Policinski, OKI Executive Director.
"I am very proud to represent Dearborn County and our region as President of OKI and a member of the National Association of Regional Councils," stated Lynch.
