(Dillsboro, Ind.) - Thanks to a generous grant, a Dillsboro art center will receive some badly needed renovations.
The Dearborn Community Foundation, Inc. recently awarded $33,736 to the Town of Dillsboro from the City of Lawrenceburg Community Grant Program Phase 2 for Friendship Gallery – HVAC replacement on both floors of the building.
“The HVAC was older and inefficient last winter,” said Doug Rump, Dillsboro Town Manager. “And then the air conditioner started going out during the very hot summer. Leaking condensation lines have damaged wooden floors and has added mounting costs to the renovation of the building.”
The Friendship Gallery was purchased last year through a gifting agreement from Friendship Financial Services.
The non-profit facility is home to a writer’s group, music circle and gallery shows which change every two months.
