David Dooley Retrial Begins Monday

The trial may last at least three weeks.

(Burlington, Ky.) - A lot of eyes will be on a Boone County courtroom starting Monday.

The second trial of David Dooley is set to begin in the morning at the county courthouse in Burlington.

Dooley, 42, was convicted in 2014 of murdering co-worker Michelle Mockbee at Thermo Fischer Scientific in Florence back in May of 2012. He was sentenced to life in prison, but has maintained his innocence.

That conviction, however, was overturned in 2017 after attorneys for Dooley successfully argued that Boone County prosecutors withheld some evidence during the first trial.

Jury selection will start Monday. The retrial is expected to last close to a month.
