CVG Receives Over $11 Million For Airport Improvements

The Airport Improvement Program grant will fund improvements made to CVG's taxiways and connector construction.

(Erlanger, Ky.) - The U.S. Department of Transportation has granted the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) a total of $11.6 million for the Airport Improvement Program.

“Infrastructure projects funded by these grants will advance safety, improve travel, generate jobs and provide other economic benefits for local communities,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao in an issued release.

$5.5 million was awarded to CVG in September, and the additional $6.1 million was announced on Friday.

Both of these grants will fund the rehabilitation of two taxiways and construction of a connector between taxiways.

“This grant funding is critical to CVG, and we thank the U.S. Department of Transportation and Secretary Chao for recognizing that infrastructure investment enables continued growth at the airport,” said Candace McGraw, chief executive officer, CVG. “These funds will ensure continued growth and safe operations with the rehabilitation of two of our taxiways.”
