The summer program is designed for high school students and graduating seniors.
Community Mental Health Center, Inc., Lawrenceburg, and the East Indiana Area Health Education Center (EI-AHEC), Batesville, are hosting a Mental Health Careers Day on Friday, June 8, in Lawrenceburg.
This summer program is designed for high school students as well as 2018 graduating seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in mental health.
During this daylong program, participants will:
- Visit and tour service treatment environments
- Participate in a Question & Answer session with mental health professionals
- Gain exposure to a wide variety of mental health career pathways
- Take part in suicide prevention training
- Learn about wellness and self-care
- Experience a variety of hands-on activities
Deadline to register for the event is Thursday, April 26. Interested students may register at the East Indiana Area Health Education Center’s website at www.eiahec.org. Program cost is $20, and program participation includes lunch and a T-shirt.
