(Ripley County, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor 5 Star Company, Inc. is scheduled to close State Road 62 approximately three miles west of Friendship on or after Friday, April 11, to complete a box culvert replacement project in Ripley County.
The closure will take place between State Road 129 and County Road 400 East and is expected to be complete in mid-June, weather permitting. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows S.R. 129 to U.S. 50 to S.R. 62.
This project is part of a $1.5 million contract awarded to 5 Star in December 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
