(Switzerland County, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Paul H. Rohe Company plans to close a portion of State Road 156 between Rising Sun and Patriot on or after Wednesday, March 5, to complete a slide correction project in Switzerland County.
The closure will take place just west of Evans Hill Road and is expected to be complete in mid-May, weather permitting. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows State Road 56.
Additional work will take place on S.R. 156 between Rising Sun and Patriot following the completion of this project. Specific information will be provided by INDOT at a later date.
This project is part of a $13.8 million contract awarded to Paul H. Rohe in May 2023. The contract includes three district slide correction projects. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
