Cincy Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash In Franklin County

The accident happened Friday afternoon on State Road 252.

(Franklin County, Ind.) - A Cincinnati man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Franklin County. 

Indiana State Police responded to the crash on State Road 252 near Heard Road around 4:00 p.m. Friday. 

The initial investigation indicated that Daniel A. Cottingham, 58, of Cincinnati, was eastbound on State Road 252 when his motorcycle crossed the center line into the path of a truck pulling a camper. 

Cottingham suffered fatal injuries in the crash, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say Cottingham was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. 

Toxicology tests are pending at this time although alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors in the crash. 

The investigation is ongoing.
