Cell Phone Store Worker Stole Nude Photos

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - An AT&T Store worker is accused of taking nude pictures off a customer’s phone, then further harrassing that customer.

Gilberto J. Diaz, 26, of Florence, worked at the Lawrenceburg AT&T Store, 1089 U.S. 50-Eads Parkway, last March when a customer brought her phone in because it was not working.

As Diaz, a manager at the store, worked on the customer’s phone, he allegedly transferred several nude photos of that customer from her phone, Lawrenceburg Police detectives claimed in a probable cause affidavit filed in Dearborn Circuit Court.

Diaz’s activity did not stop there. He allegedly sent the woman explicit text messages later the same day, although she had never given Diaz her number.

When detectives met with Diaz, he allegedly admitted to transferring the photos from the victim’s phone to his phone, as well as sending the text messages.

Diaz is charged with Conversion and Harassment, both misdemeanors. He was arrested on a warrant Friday, February 17 and remains held at the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center as of Wednesday morning.

His bond was set at $1,000 cash and $10,000 surety.

According to the affidavit, Diaz told detectives he had been placed on suspension at the AT&T Store pending the outcome of the case. He had most recently been working at another phone retailer at the Florence Mall.
