A preliminary cause of death has been released.

An autopsy on Carson Hughes was completed this morning, and the preliminary cause of death was determined to be probable cold-water drowning. No other evidence of injury was present.
The final autopsy report and cause of death are pending toxicology results.
Original story published Sunday, March 17 at 9:12 PM:
(Versailles, Ind.) - The body of Carson Hughes was recovered from Versailles Lake on Sunday evening.
Indiana Conservation Officer divers located the body around 6:50 p.m. utilizing sonar. According to a news release, Hughes' body was recovered in six feet of water.
An exact cause of death is pending autopsy results.
Hughes was reported missing from the Versailles Lake area last Friday afternoon.
