This is a one-year collective bargaining agreement.

(Batesville, Ind.) - Batesville Community School Corporation (BCSC) is pleased to announce that a Tentative Agreement (TA) has been reached with the Batesville Educators Association (BEA) for the 2025–26 school year.
This one-year Collective Bargaining Agreement reflects our continued dedication to supporting and retaining outstanding educators while upholding the district’s long tradition of responsible financial stewardship.
Key Components of the Agreement
Salary Enhancements
- All eligible teachers will advance one step on the salary schedule, resulting in a $1,200 increase.
- An additional $1,900 will be added to every cell on the salary schedule.
- Most teachers will receive a total salary increase of $3,100.
Healthcare Contribution
- BCSC will increase its contribution toward employee healthcare premiums by an additional 5%, further strengthening support for staff and their families.
Commitment to Excellence and Responsibility
This Tentative Agreement represents the most significant percentage increase among local school corporations, delivering an average $3,100 boost per teacher. This achievement is especially noteworthy given that BCSC receives the lowest per-pupil funding in southeastern Indiana. It is a testament to the district’s careful financial planning and the shared commitment of the Board, BEA, and the BCSC administrative team.
BCSC Superintendent Paul Ketcham expressed gratitude for the positive and collaborative negotiations. “This agreement honors our educators, strengthens our ability to attract and retain exceptional teachers, and reflects our unwavering commitment to fiscal responsibility,” he said. “BCSC continues to deliver high-quality educational opportunities with the lowest revenue stream in the region, an accomplishment made possible by the dedication of our entire team.”
The Tentative Agreement affirms a collective belief that investing in educators is the most powerful investment a community can make. It positions BCSC to remain competitive, forward-thinking, and fully aligned with its mission to provide an excellent education for every student.
