(Batesville, Ind.) – The Batesville Community Education Foundation (BCEF) is pleased to announce the election of Marc Cerniglia to a three-year term on its board of directors. Cerniglia, a successful entrepreneur and operational strategies expert, is also teaching business and economics at Batesville High School (BHS).
A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy with a bachelor’s degree in applied science and engineering, Cerniglia received his master’s in business administration from the University of Virginia. In addition to his military service, his professional background includes the elevator and management consulting industries where he worked for a major elevator company in both operations and strategic planning. He also worked for a major strategy consultancy, advising Fortune 100 companies on various strategy projects before founding his own lift management consultancy in the U.S. and the Middle East.
“I look forward to helping BCEF improve the experience of all those involved in the education of our children,” Cerniglia said.
“The education foundation will be celebrating its fifteenth anniversary next year and we’re taking a hard look at our mission and program alignment in preparation for that milestone,” said Anne Wilson, BCEF executive director. “Marc’s background in management and strategic planning will be helpful as we evaluate our successes thus far and revisit our long-term plans for supporting the Batesville Community School Corporation (BCSC).”
Cerniglia lives in Batesville with his wife, Kristina. They have two children, Joseph and Olivia, who are respectively a sophomore and freshman at the Universities of Michigan and Wisconsin.
Cerniglia joins 16 other volunteers who currently serve on the BCEF board: President Alex Dudley, Vice President Matt Moore, Treasurer Eric Benz, Secretary Jama Linkel-Cleghorn, Leacarol Bennett, Eric Fledderman, Jenni Garrett, Sammie Hardebeck, Alex Henkle, Ryan Holcomb, BCSC superintendent Paul Ketcham, Kim Kick, Mindy Koehne, Brad Marcy, Ann Vincent, and Ashley Walls.
