Batesville Manufacturer Grows By Adding S.C. Business

Founded in 1978, Batesville Tool & Die is a supplier of metal stampings and assemblies . On Friday, BTD announced it has acquired the assets of South Carolina Metal Products. According to a company news release, the newly acquired business is in close proximity to many of Batesville Tool & Die’s current customers  in the southeast. The 72,000 square foot manufacturing facility located in Aiken, South Carolina currently employs 60 people. It has a press capacity of up to 800 tons and is capable of metal stamping, robotic mig and resistant welding, and other value-added processes servicing the automotive and lawn and garden industries. “Business awarded to BTD continues to be strong and this acquisition will provide needed capacity to keep the company competitive and growing in addition to adding a desirable location in the southeast,” said Batesville Tool & Die president and CEO Jody Fledderman. The South Carolina plant will be the third location for Batesville Tool & Die. In addition to its headquarters and first operation in Batesville, the company also operates a facility in Queretaro, Mexico. The acquisition will increase Batesville Tool & Die’s employment to 900 people and its facilities to over a half-million square feet. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
