Batesville HS Principal Takes Superintendent Job at Plainfield

(Batesville, Ind.) - Andy Allen is leaving Batesville. 

Allen, the current principal at Batesville High School, was announced as Plainfield Community School Corporation Superintendent last Thursday.

He will assume his new role on January 1, 2026, succeeding Plainfield's previous superintendent of 17 years. Allen previously held the title of assistant principal at Plainfield High School during the 2008-2009 school year. 

Allen has served as Principal of Batesville HS since 2013. Overall, he has 26 years of educational experience.  Under his leadership, Batesville High School has achieved significant successes with connecting students with post-secondary opportunities, whether that be college, military service, technical certifications, or other credentials & licenses.  Prior to his principalship, Allen served as associate principal for Batesville High School from 2009 - 2013. 

“Being named Superintendent of the Plainfield Community School Corporation is an extreme honor and humbling experience. I appreciate the professional manner in which the Plainfield Community School Board members conducted the interview process and the confidence demonstrated by their affirming actions tonight,” said Mr. Allen. “The current PCSC leadership team under the direction of Mr. Olinger has exceeded expectations as we begin the transition process. I look forward to intentional and consistent learning ahead to ensure we are best prepared for January 1, 2026.”
