(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Ohio County Tourism, Inc. announces the bands for the 2024 Rising Sun Summer Fest. The event takes place on Saturday, June 8 from 4-10pm on Main & Poplar Streets in downtown Rising Sun.
The event is free and open to the public. Attendees should bring their own lawn chairs.
STILL KICK’N, an area favorite, kicks off the event on the Main Street stage from 4:00-6:00 p.m. “Everyone enjoyed STILL KICK’N last year at one of our Friday Fun in Rising Sun events. We’re looking forward to having them back,” said Kendal Miller, executive director of Ohio County Tourism and one of the Summer Fest organizers.
From 7:00-10:00 p.m., Whoa, Man, a seven-piece group with three female leads performs “songs of the iconic women of rock who have influenced generations of music lovers and musicians alike.”
The group promises danceable, anthemic songs from influential rockers including Pat Benatar, Heart, Carole King, the Cranberries, the Supremes, Joan Jett, Stevie Nicks, Gwen Stefani, Melissa Etheridge, Paul Abdul, Blondie, Adele, Linda Ronstadt, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, Janet Jackson and many more.
