Donations and entry fees will support the Historical Society

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - The Ohio County Historical Society is “Calling Bakers of All Ages” to participate in the 2026 Bake Off
The event will take place Saturday, October 17 at the Historical Society Museum located at 212 S. Walnut Street, Rising Sun, IN 47040.
The age categories, entry fees, baked items and prizes awarded will be as follows:
Category 1 – Ages 12 & Under: Entry Fee: $10 per entry.
Category 2 – Ages 13 to 17: Entry Fee: $12 per entry
Category 3 – Ages 18 and Up: Entry Fee: $15 per entry
In each age group, $50 will be awarded for Best Cookies, Best Cake, Best Cheesecake, and Best Pie.
All entries MUST be homemade with ingredients from scratch. NO store-bought mixes. NO premade cookie or pie dough. NO store-bought fillings or icing. Judging will be blinded. A typed or handwritten recipe is required to be submitted with each entry form.
All entries must arrive to the Ohio County Historical Museum by noon on Saturday, October 17. Judging will begin at 1:00 p.m. The deadline to enter is 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16.
A tasting table of all the entries will be provided for participants and guests. Donations are welcome.
Light refreshments, coffee and water will be provided by the Historical Society. The museum will be open for tours during the event.
Donations and entry fees will benefit the Ohio County Historical Society.

Forms can be mailed or submitted to the Ohio County Historical Society, 212 S. Walnut Street, PO Box 392, Rising Sun, IN 47040 and must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2026.
