(Aurora, Ind.) – Three years ago, Rowan Ziegler opened a lemonade stand in her family’s driveway to raise money to find a cure for cystic fibrosis.

Her brother, Jet, was diagnosed with the genetic disorder at birth.

“It seems really hard for him to do sometimes,” Rowan says of watching her little brother struggle for air as CF causes mucus to build up in his lungs.

Each year since they started selling ice-cold lemonade, Rowan and her family – including mom Valerie and dad Adam – have been able to raise more and more money through lemonade sales and other efforts.

They are once again getting help from Combs Pizza in Aurora. The pizzeria on Second Street is hosting the second annual Jet’s Flight Fundraiser on Saturday, April 28. Ten percent of sales throughout the day will be donated to the Jet’s Flight team at the Great Strides Walk to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Rowan will also be there selling beverages from her signature lemonade stand.

Last year’s fundraiser raised close to $5,000. The family is asking the community to come out and help them raise even more this weekend.

“I want to help raise money for him so they can find a cure for cystic fibrosis,” Rowan says.

Look for Rowan and her lemonade stand at another CF fundraiser on Sunday, April 29. The Breathe Easy Road Ride off-road event at Perfect North Slopes will raise money for Luke’s Lifesavers and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
