INDIANAPOLIS - The Atlanta Falcons were in the Hoosier state last week for joint practices and a preseason matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.

Atlanta won the preseason matchup 34-6, but it was what their organization did off the field that stands out from their trip to Indiana.

The Falcons, along with the Arthur Blank Foundation, donated $25,000 to the American Red Cross to support flood recovery efforts throughout the state. The Colts and Indiana Pacers combined to donate another $250,000 to the American Red Cross.

Locally, Dearborn, Decatur and Franklin counties are among 21 counties that fall under a Major Disaster Declaration approved by President Trump earlier this week.

Laurel, Metamora and West Harrison were among the areas hit hardest by flooding caused by severe storms and heavy rainfall that swept across the area August 12-13.
